Just received my new GPU in the mail.

Hardware-wise, I'm assuming I just need disconnect the old GPU, then plug in the new, and that's all.

Software-wise is where I'm a little more unsure. Should the first thing I do when I turn on my computer is delete all drivers from the old card? Is it as easy as uninstall the software through the control panel? This video suggested downloading DDU to remove drivers before downloading the new ones https://youtu.be/nyDxrTHDjXQ

After the drivers are installed, the computer is good to play games on again?

run ddu in safe mode before swapping out card.
then install new drivers from site.

Any particular reason to run in safe mode vs normal?

So I installed the GPU, and deleted the AMD drivers using DDU while in safe mode, then installed the latest driver off of NVIDIA's site.

The games run fine on the highest settings with good frames. However, I've been getting errors and occasional game crashes saying "Display Driver Stopped Responding and has Recovered" and also in the action center a warning saying "AMD/ATI Video Driver has stopped working"

I'm thinking that there could still be AMD remnants left behind that are causing the issues. I'm looking through the Registry Editor and see some folders labeled AMD, should I delete all these?

Thats what DDU does if you select AMD when you run it and not nvidia.

in DDU, when you select "AMD", isn't it supposed to delete all AMD related files that a normal Device Manager uninstall may leave behind?
