Hello again...

So my son made this video for school, for a very important presentation.
It is made using PS Element and seems to be a mp4 file of 4.57 Gb
He was able to transfer it on his iPhone thinking he could transfer it again on a computer at school, but he couldn't do the transfer. It has to go through iTunes it seems, and his video doesn't appear. There is a movie on his iPhone that he bought, he can transfer it, but not his own video for school.

So the hell with it, I'm thinking we'll just put the damn video on a usb stick. Fail again, we keep getting the message that this file is too big for transfer...
The usb stick is empty and had room for 8 Gb. Video of my son is 4.57 Gb.
I even tried compressing the video and didn't succeed in transfering..

Help please!!!

Marie

PS: reward of 300 fg to the person making me succeed in this video transfer!

Does your son have a gmail account? He could just drop it into google drive and then dl/open it at his final destination.

Internet is too limited to send that big a file... we only have a limit of 20 Gb per month.... And unfortunately, the video is not on a lap top :(

He does have a gmail though, could this be send from his iPhone?

You said the flash drive is empty, but have you formatted it? Sometimes files won't transfer correctly if it's not formatted.

E: yes, if he emails it to himself, it should prompt him to send it via google drive instead due to the size of the file. Unfortunately you can't access google drive via your phone browser, but you can download the app for free.

No I haven't... how do I do that?

He will download the app tomorrow from a public wifi area and will try that way if the usb transfer cannot be done...

PC

go to My Computer > Manage > Disk Management (under storage)
choose the USB drive
right click it and choose "format"

or you may be able to just right click the usb drive from my computer and select "format"

all depends which version of windows you're using, but i'm assuming the latter option would do.

I'd recommend formatting it to FAT32 when it gives you the option.

once it's complete, eject the drive, plug it in again and re-attempt your transfer.

Double check that you don't have anything you need on the drive before doing this, and please make sure you are selecting the correct drive!
