In my Opinion finding a Treasure Chest is the most disappointing thing in the game at the Moment...
So i had a Idea based on the game "Path of Exile"
When you find a treasure chest it's locked. When you hold your Mouse over it you can see the different mods on it (like for Maps)
e.g.
- +3 Monster Level
- 5% chance to Level Up
- 17% Monster Dificulty
- drop 2 additional Normal Items
you can decide between leaving it behind or open it.
When you do open it you have to fight a swarm of monsters, including an EP as "the end boss" to finish it.
The actually loot ouf of the Chest is the loot the monsters would have dropped + The additional Stuff wich is shown at the Magical mods of the Chest (in the Example above 2 Normal Items)
Let me know what you guys think about it :)
Everyone will tell you that I am basically an ass (not arse) hole. I null voted this idea because it has merits, but it also has demerits.
1. Hovering mouse over function will NOT work in this scenario... even though it would be nice.
2. Fighting a "Swarm of monsters" (what... like normal monsters at character level that drop items based on XX... XX ...xx?) and an Evil Presence that has the chance to drop NO ITEM at all because of other factors initiated already in the game mechanics?
Your idea has merit, there is some potential and honestly the player base would love new content to the game for their benefit in drop rewards, but, you have to find the right medium for it to be either implemented in the game, or be analyzed in a way where it doesn't conflict to the creators (Paul) intentions of the game.
