I'm on my third controller in like 4 years. None of them had HUGE issues one had a dpad button go out. Another had a bumper button go out and won't hold a charge worth a shit. I just chalk it up to something that happens after putting 1k hours on a controller That being said all my old ps1 controllers still work lols

This is a very common issue this generation on both Xb1 and Ps4. They can use the same joysticks. Haven't taken apart a ps4 controller yet to verify they're the exact same ones myself, but everything online says they're the same and I know the replacements are compatible. Unfortunately, the OEM joysticks aren't anywhere to be found. I spent $30 on 10 replacement joysticks for my Xb1 and they only last about a month before they need to be replaced. They feel exactly the same as OEM. They're the premium joysticks. The cheap ones just don't feel right at all and have a huge deadzone. Would just be nice to be able to get the joysticks themselves that they use at the factory.

I have 5 controllers that I rotate using. 2x black, red, gold, red crystal. They’re all fine, and I got the console at launch.

I've got a friend with a similar problem and it's because he beats the ever living shit out of his controllers. Treat them better man, or you're going to have to keep shelling out for news ones every 6 months. All my consoles have the controllers that came with them and I've had no problems.
