Aren't you like 300 lbs?

I def misspoke saying one of the least. Just in comparison to football. Yes a hard screen can be just as brutal as a tackle ill take the L but DM alrdy brought it up so get your +1 elsewhere

The contact they sign originally gives the teams the rights to tell them can’t do things that risk injury like basketball or skiing etc. so not sure why your mad, it isn’t new or surprising. They get paid a lot of money and there body is a business and the teams are renting that business for a yearly fee. Pretty much how you have to look at it

also im not mad about it i had a nice buzz on and got exactly the discussion i expected. Actually was a solid thread for jsp standards

Ten guys jumping up and down in a small proximity and flying at each other (without pads/helmets) leaves plenty risk for injury with ankles/knees/etc. I can't blame the Chiefs for being upset.

Also, anyone that thinks basketball isn't a contact sport has never played at a competitive level

I have only played pick up and rec league. Ive never seen a hard screen or any legit play that resulted in hard contact there. I know pickup games, like you said later, can have contact but its usually unintentional like flailing elbows or going for a block and bodying. Controlled basketball has way less contact as opposed to hockey, football, rugby, etc.

Banning players from using ATVs and motorcycles is a bit more interesting to me. I wonder how they even enforce that, like if they have PIs watching them or somehow check what vehicles they own.

It's honestly a bigger issue than pickup BB, as the Seahawks learned recently with Malik McDowell or the Steelers with Roethlisberger.

They don't enforce it, for the most part--it just means that if they violate the clause, the team gets to dock their pay or whatever the stipulation is. And the media will enforce it for you--NFL stars have reporters crawling all over them like ants.

McDowell was a bad signing to begin with, but Seattle can't go a draft without getting a D-Lineman

Dude wanted to get paid the $$$ to play, just not put in the work

I am certain Suggs never tore his ACL as a Raven. He's torn his Achilles (twice) and biceps in recent years though.

He's a bitch though.

He's a former DPotY, SB winner, and future HoF'er though.

more along the lines of if you get hurt, we will fuck you over.

i mean ben and cam almost killed themselves in the past few years, im sure if any lesser known player gets in an accident they would lose everything.
