I recommend a hybrid sorc thats what i do for nl crushes.

Level 80 clears hell trav just fine with hydra/orb/light

Can also convert over then finish ladder.

I think most people make TP behind the travincal altar (north east from the wall where they stand), the wall blocks hydras.
Obviously you still need to check if there arent any monsters nearby, but usually there are none.
In softcore mules can still rip, in hardcore I guess you need to clear better, but still the wall should provide safety.

As others said, best is to have hammerdin or WW barb to help, in 2019 reloging is very fast, although obviously this means that you need to level them up

On my blizz es sorc I have telekinesis maxed so I just static and then telekin the last one to death. When I used an orber I used to put a diggler on and static then stab.
