It will be a return to the 80's canon, ignoring the '16 debacle, according to the guy who's going to make it.

But like... That doesn't matter. I don't think people understand that what made ghostbusters great was the fact that you had 4 top tier comedians at the height of their careers basically ad libbing an entire movie.

Catching that lightning in a bottle again 30-40 years later is like... Not likely. Even if it ends up being good it won't be the same, which brings up the argument as to why it needs to be ghostbusters in the first place.

Have to agree /w blah about catching lightning in a bottle again under the same series decades later are incredibly slim chances. Although I do kind of look forward to seeing the next movie and hope Ivan Reitman's son Jason Reitman can do a good job with it.
