Said screw it and downloaded gimp and made myself an avatar and signature picture for the first time.
I learned how to make a background transparent
Also dangled with some other settings.
My sig might look funny depending on what background color you are using for the website :/
If you click my profile it will show how i intended it to look ^_^

How did i doooo?

I used this picture for everything

So basically, you rendered and completed the image to make it a bit more symmetrical in areas, then resized it for legal sig use.
I would recommend saving your file as a png instead of gif, unless you actually wanted the pixelated edges with a transparent background.
A couple parts could be cleaned up, such that it wouldn't look like a complete horizontal flip.
