built this dam pc in like 2012 it powers up and the mobo reads 00 which means check cpu tried resitting the sitting reapplying thermal paste same error tried resetting cmos

any other ideas before I spend money on a new cpu

Make sure the CPU cooler's fan is plugged into the CPU_Fan header, on the motherboard.

it is built it in 2012 and it worked fine until about 3 days ago

Well, we have all made the mistake once or twice, where we removed the CPU cooler to re-apply the paste, and then when re-attaching, hooker the CPU cooler lead to the wrong header.

You might have damaged the CPU, when re-applying the thermal compound. Not saying you did... just pointing out the possibilities.
