So i have an older Zotac Nvidia GTX 580 3gig model, i want to replace the thermal pads/paste but i don't know the size of the thermal pads.

I tried contacting Zotac but they said since its so old they don't carry the document with all that information anymore basically i'm shit out of luck unless i open it and see the size myself.

Could anyone help? anyone know or might be able to hunt down the information thank you

You can easily buy "sheets" of thermal pad. They are large and can be cut to any required size.

Just by way of example...

im not talking how the size itself im talking about the thickness
0.5mm 1mm 1.5mm etc

the pads are usually bigger then the IC's them selfs, can measure the not compressed part.

i see but the problem is if i take it apart i will have to wait for the order to come in and be without a computer

you cant just put it back togethere bec since its compressed it may not make correct contact anymore

p.s

i still dont know why zotac would trash all documented information for older models it still sounds retarded to me

no you won't...
it will transfer enough heat, you don't have replace em unless you get them dirty or they start to deteriorate.

/edit.
@zotac comment, they don't, just customer service rep probably doesn't have access to it.

I have personally never replaced a thermal pad on a gpu during a tim swap unless the pads were literally crumbling from being so dried out.
I'll wager all your fg you'll be fine.
