The data sheet from my ASRock AB350M Pro4 tells me it can handle DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 3000MHz. Now I checked the manual to find out which slots to put my RAM in. I have 2x 8 Gb DDR4-3000 CL16-18-18 bars from G.Skill and have no idea where to put them in.

They are marked as 8Gx1, and I also cannot find it in the manual. They are single rank.

Could anybody actually help me reading the sheet below?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I see.

And how did you know that. I mean, can't I just put them into A1 and B1? What would be the difference?

About 8-10 years ago, as CPU air coolers got bigger, motherboard manufacturer's moved the optimum slots from 1 and 3 to 2 and 4, so the RAM could be removed (if necessary) without needing to remove the air coolers.

RAM will operate oin dual channel in A1 + B1, or in A2 + B2. They will run better in A2 + B2. This info is in your motherboard manual.

A1 and B1 would still be dual channel, just not the optimum channel.

/e A1 and A2, for example, would be single channel.
