didnt read all comments because tl/dr but im running 235/40 r888's on track (nurburgring, spa, zandvoort and other european tracks) with 500+hp on fwd and traction isnt that much of a problem. you wont ever need 300 or even bigger tires. especially not in a rwd car. keep it clean and put as big tires under it as possible with stock fenders.
Not ever certainly isn't true. If you're drag pushing horsepower you're gonna need large tires, especially on the street. Which is why everybody runs slicks that want to go fast on the street. But that's what I was trying to say. 250-450 horsepower is nothing. Especially not talking about wanting 315s or bigger. My CC's engine is getting fully built and I won't even be running bigger than 255 NT05's and I'll be 550-600 on a fwd setup.
