I've tried to figure that out, a bunch of people just wanted to argue about it. But yes, pretty much exactly what I want thinking.

you're the one that was confused, talking about gta rules thinking they were the same as scca and nasa

Was not confused about any rules. People were making up rules out of the blue trying to pretend they knew what they were talking about. Considering I do this for a living, I kind of have to know my stuff. But let me guess, you read a Wikipedia article or two so you're an expect now?

talking about miatas and street classes when a 400hp or even a 250hp maita will never be put into a normal street class, and clearly will be able to modify fenders to fit 275 hoosiers. Which is a common tire size for miatas running in certain classes in scca and nasa

but what do i know, its not like ive been around national and regional champs before

You clearly didn't read from start to finish. This is why you look like an idiot. The OP stated she was in a street class yet wanted to be 315 tires on her Miata which you can't modify fenders on a street class car. You should read everything before making accusations.

Again like ive said before, all my statements were towards her power goals. So why have you been replying to my power goals statements with street class and small tire sizes.

Her power goals were between 250-400. (When building a car you know what you want, you don't guesstimate that much) and she said tires OVER 315 which is RIDICULOUS and not possible in a street spec car, which she stated hers is. She's pretending to know more than she does and do more than she does. She has a stock Miata and living with hopes and dreams. She has no clue what she's talking about. She is making stuff up on the spot. Thus what I've been saying.

the racing that im doing is done with lightweight cars with wheel size restrictions, if your size is between 165-195 your in a class together same as 205-225 ext ext. its a sprint race style up the mountain and the cars are limited only by the tire sizes witch is why a lot of people opt for lightweight cars. the top run last year was 16.57 for my class, thats 16min 57seconds. also yea 315 or bigger on a front wheel would be dumb, how would you even turn?

Could just be some local thing that has no involvement with SCCA/NASA. I think we're looking at it wrong.

That's what it's sounding like 'cause those are some stupid ass rules that nobody with a brain would ever build a car for. No offense to OP. That's completely backwards racing and that car would never be good for anything but that fake class of racing which will only be at that one event at that one location.

Two years in right now im currently saving for bags and looking into a good drivetrain/engine for 250-400 hp power output.
currently setup for grip spec grip track with 185 tire / wheel class. ;)

didnt read all comments because tl/dr but im running 235/40 r888's on track (nurburgring, spa, zandvoort and other european tracks) with 500+hp on fwd and traction isnt that much of a problem. you wont ever need 300 or even bigger tires. especially not in a rwd car. keep it clean and put as big tires under it as possible with stock fenders.
