It gets to "Checking versions..." and then it displays this message every time.
It happens on all of the realms, and I've tried running D2 in compatibility mode, running it as an administrator, uninstalling & re-installing the game (with new CD keys), changing my IP, and none of these have provided me with a resolution.

Please advise. I'd damn nearly be willing to pay someone FG if they can fix this issue. I WANT TO PLAY DIABLO 2
My ISP is Verizon Fios. There was a time I was on Fios and this game was running just fine. Then, I took a break for over 3 months, and it stopped working. Then, I came back after over a year, and it was working. Then, I went away for over 6 months, and here we are again; not working.

I am convinced that Blizzard just wants me to purchase ANOTHER copy of Diablo 2 because I haven't played in a long time, which is unethical if not illegal.
E: And the last time that I did purchase a CD key, it didn't fix this problem, and I wrote them, returned all of their data gathering software reports they asked me to download and provide the results from, and then they just said "fuck it, here's your $10 back."

Getting the same shit this ladder reset.

First they block my original 16 digit physical copy cd keys from accessing b.net, forcing me to jump through bullshit hoops to re-download the whole game just to apply the 26 digit key version.

Now this. Blizz wants to drown this game down the toilet a small percentage of players at a time. Fuck em, never tried POE but lookin like time to jump ship finally
