guildie had same prob earlier, support told him his os was not updated and he got new cd key and worked fine since

I had a similar issue and running in xp sp2 compatibility mode and as admin seemed to fix it

buy from battle net site, and reinstall with digital downloader

Uninstall Diablo 2 > Regedit > Delete All Diablo 2 Related bs in there. Download Launcher from Blizzard Website and should work fine from there. (Also with the 1.14d update, you don't need winxp service pack2 compatibility)

that was 2 many games - BAN. dont know how long it is - we will see
