I want to preface my statements by acknowledging my awareness of being in the minority on this. I'm also in no way trying to insult or demean any of you out there who enjoy these films.
I personally can't understand how/why people are so entranced (hyped) by what I perceive as purposeful pandering to obtain optimal mediocrity. Most of the Marvel movies have been okay at best, with a few outliers in the outright terrible section and an even smaller number being surprisingly good (the first Iron Man for instance). The Avengers films in particular have been underwhelming given what they should be capable of. Civil War, followed by Age of Ultron, are easily two of the worst films from the modern Marvel cinematic universe. If a movie offers no substance beyond it's flashy effects and enormous budget, it is not a good movie.
I'll watch it when it's online for free, or if an irl friend asks me to go with them to the theater. I'm sure it'll be watchable, it may even be enjoyable for a few moments. My main issue is that like the last however fucking many Marvel movies I've seen, I'll leave the theater, or wherever I am, knowing I could have spent the last 2+ hours of my life doing almost anything and it would have been more productive/entertaining, than watching yet another formulaic pander fest that we've all seen 20+ times before this.
you mean you probably wouldve spent those 2 hrs + coming on jsp and ranting about you arent taken seriously cause u think ur a movie critic lawl
