Hey guys any recommendations on which realm to start on? I see they try to put you on ‘new players’ realms is that worth doing or picking something else like perhaps a realm that’s medium populated is better?

And what character to make first / race?
Thinking something relatively simple to get a hang of the controls and all

Class would depend on what role you would like to play. Do you want to just do damage? If so, up close or far away? Do you want to be the punching bag? Do you want to help the party stay alive? Combination of a few?

Realm would vary based on what faction you would choose. Try to go for one of the higher population ones depending on the faction so that you have a better chance of groups/guilds/gold earning potential.

Mage is good.
For a newer player I would recommend warlock to help with survivability since you get the voidwalker minion that can tank if you play solo. But everyone has their own preference.
Hunter is also a “viable” choice. I personally hate hunters though lol

If US I would say
Illidan possibly for horde
Sargeras or stormrage possibly for alliance.

Why do you not like hunters? That’s the one with either a bow or rifle right? Was considering that, a dwarf

Personal preference. They can use bows, guns and I believe they are back to being able to use polearms.

Yup, survival hunter is a melee spec now


@op I would recommend a Druid for your first class. They are the only class with 4 different specs and can do it all (tank, heal, melee and ranged dps)

Go for a high/full populated server, much more active trading on those and more people to help you out or do dungeons with etc
