a quick google shows 7.4ghz as the 8700k record, but that was stable under full load. You could probably get at least 300-400mhz above that and be just stable enough for a quick cpuz- validation as soon as the desktop loads. Beyond that I doubt it. Your chip mileage may also vary, that was obviously a golden chip.

To be fair that's probably also extreme overclocking... LN2, 16 phase mobo, dual 8pin CPU headers, etc. No way youd get even close to that on accident.

IBM Debuts 100GHz Graphene Processor

By Staff Writer February 08, 2010 News

IBM has established a new record in the ultra-high-speed transistor design, by unleashing a graphene-based processor that can perform at 100 billion cycles a second, i.e. 100GHz, almost four times the existing experimental graphene-based processors.

With this breakthrough revelation, Big Blue has just showcased the fact that graphene-based processors can indeed be produced in a wafer-style manner, paving the way for large scale production of these high speed processors.

I know, but I doubt it's what OP is doing, considering he's on a Diablo 2 forum asking questions.

you're good at skimming things and not knowing what you're talking about.

this whole thing was because of a buggy AI Suite run that was showing my CPU being stressed @ 9300MHz with 3 cores. this is obviously an impossible number.
the original question was rhetorical. everyone has since switched topics while i was continuing to run and test more auto-OC's.
