Looking to buy a dedicated monitor for photo editing and light gaming. Would like 30-36" screen, 100hz+, ips panel. My computer is outdated so even if i do game on it, it wont be anything competitive, i just dont have the time for that anymore lol.

Main purpose for this monitor is for photo editing with a side of gaming, but would like to have a good screen for when i do. On the other hand, I can always pickup a 24-27" 144hz monitor fairly cheap later on if i find myself upgrading my comp.

Would spend up to $500 for the right one, obviously would like to stay below that.

Well, you don't really need the refresh rate for editing.

Anyways, look for a Dell Ultrasharp with 1.07 billion colors rather than 16.7 million. I would do some research into a 10 bit panel and what you will need to support it.

/e Not 10 bit, I think, but awesome for editing...

Or godly...

Those are all some expensive screens, I would settle for a really good 27" under $300

There aren't any really good ones for that cheap. There are only decent ones that you can pay a professional to calibrate for you.

It was between that and this: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00P0EQD1Q#customerReviews

hopefully I made the right choice.

Not hard to just calibrate it yourself. Costs under $100, Way less than paying someone & you can re-calibrate whenever you want, As monitors change over time.
