On average, it took 200-300 hours to hit level 60. So yeah I guess if you play 12 hours a day you'll do just fine.

In comparison. You can now 1-110 in about 90 minutes with the correct items.

Even top streamers who have been streaming the beta on Twitch are whining. While I'm sure there is a group of people out there that will love Vanilla, I doubt it will be even 10% of the crowd that thinks they will lol.

That being said, I'll be leveling my Shadow Priest so I can Mind Control noobs to their deaths again. That, and being able to control your Hunter pet, are the only 2 things in Vanilla that I miss.

Dispell people going into a raid will be the most scummy and fun thing you can do as a priest / shaman

They used hours and hours to gather / get all the buffs for a raid and you can remove those in seconds :P

I preferred sitting in Teldrassil as a Horde. There's a quest where level 10 Rogues had to meet up with an NPC on a giant tree branch overhanging over the edge into the ocean between Teldrassil and Darkshore. Mind controlling them meant they had to spend an hour swimming back to get the quest again, or hearth, in which case I just did it again lol.

People thinking Classic WoW is going to be Vanilla WoW are fooling themselves. Also : I'd say 85% of people who try Classic won't get past level 20. With the amount of people that complain about leveling now, wait until they realize it takes months to get to 60. And then weeks more to farm your mount lol.

I started in November of 2005, didn't have a lot of Classic before TBC came out, but Classic burned a hatred for non hybrid classes in me that has lasted to this day lol.

Leveling was majority of the fun for me playing vanilla.

This. The nostalgic memory of Vanilla times, if people even have played themselves back then, is a very deceiving one. The most important factor is that every improvement in the game after Vanilla hasn't been around back then, so one wasn't used to the comfort or change it would provide later on. You can hardly turn back on stuff like that, humans are creatures of habit and hate to leave their comfort zone, even if that added comfort changes or worsens the gaming experience in some way.

I do enjoy the Vanilla content a lot, but actually going back and playing on that level is a damn pain in the butt.

(Hybrid AKA Healbrid/Buffatron)
FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM....
Player: PHEW! I made it to 60 now what spec should I try? What dungeons should I try? OOO so many possibi...
*Hands over healing gear and reagents*
Every Raid Leader: You are going to be needing these from here on out soldier

Regardles, I had a blast but as I mentioned elsewhere... there are way too many issues with Vanilla. It did well back then because there was little to compare to. Class/spec balances blew, PVP was balls (world pvp was okay for some classes), and farming/leveling... oh my god the amount of time it took for questing was hell.
