I don't have any industry-specific things to recommend, but location is key. Do a lot of primary market research into the area you want to open it in to confirm that there's adequate demand. Scope out nearby competitors, go for a drink there and see what they're doing right and wrong.
You could theoretically differentiate your bar on a cost basis, but as a small start up it's unlikely you'd be able to compete on price with bigger bars and chains, which would benefit from economies of scale. So a good and cost effective way to differentiate yourselves is through excellent customer service. Build a rapport with patrons.
Thanks for the reply, we have taken this all into consideration id say we have spent a solid 14 hours of brainstorming, we have many many things thats why I am hoping to see some unique attention grabbers
