Hanbitsoft will be releasing their version (global+Tokyo expainsion) of the game on Steam.

This version of the game will have to be bought (again) and also it is only single player.

Those who'd like to experience the original Hellgate London are still welcome to play online on the London 2038 server.

I see it says single player but surely that is a typo? (Unless they're giving up on the old cash shop, guess it did fail once :lol: )

Exciting!!! 2007 all over again! Or was it 2008? I was deployed when the first hell-gate released and never got to play it. I know it didn't do too well. :( I was so excited for it.

They get to sell an old game without having to pour money into it. I'd say it's smart.

But yeah, single player wasn't what I envisioned when I asked the steam community to bring Hellgate to Steam.

Oh well, guess we'll keep playing the original online on the London 2038 servers. ;D

Yeah, just selling the single player game will reduce costs of server upkeep (as in 0 cost) but it almost feels what's the point? anyone who was tempted you have got it off ebay, or by other means, etc.
I just feel it won't do well I guess.

I hope it does, because I really enjoyed Hellgate. Though if it isn't f2p I think i'll leave it in my nostalgia, (Prob better that way ^_^ )

Actually the version they're releasing on Steam will come with the Tokyo expansion. That's not available when you buy the original game off ***

WOW...

I saw this game was released on steam for $10, and it was an insta buy regardless of the reviews.

Once I realized it was single player only, it was an insta refund as well...

Its great its on Steam and all, but its not the same without multiplayer :(
