If you spent 34k on a supercharged setup just to snap a rod you got ripped off. I could build almost 7 second car off 34k. Superchargers are such old technology anyways. Go turbo. People who supercharge are living in the past. At worst set up with a procharger.
Read a little closer on what I said.
I never spent 34k from the start, 34k is after everything.
I should've guessed the rod bolts failing and snapping a rod like that but I took a chance. The car has been abused badly from the time I got it in 2012 from when I was in Washington state doing grassroot drifting events when I didn't know what the hell I was doing.
When the first supercharger failed, I had to get the whole system flushed out and I requested that my block get torn apart again to remove any metal particles that ran through the system before I would damage my cylinder walls.
If I took heed to my tuner's word, my build would've probably been half of what it is now easily. Luckily my pockets are pretty well filled (but not 400k/yr filled hurrr hurr).
On a side note, procharger doesn't make a high output kit for the VQ platform unless you really do some custom fabbing. Even if my V2 Ti trim isn't enough, I could always bump up to the Vortech V7 YSi. Procharger only has one unit available and it's only limited to 500whp max.
Here's the damage to my first SC impeller for reference.
