it's best to rewatch the whole show from the start but then just skip the last season. other than the whole "I know you guys guessed they were dead and in hell from the first season, but you were wrong, because they're actually in purgatory, and that's totally different so when we said you were wrong we werent lying" thing its a top notch show.

it for sure takes an odd turn after that. it goes from a pure island castaway show to a much more complex sci fi mystery with lots more flashbacks and way more characters. seasons 1-2 are for SURE the best, but i like the other seasons too.

The newer Battlestar Galactica is a pretty decent for your criteria.....Scfi, a little action, drama, interesting characters
