If certain tier items were only found in map chests we would literally be fucked for all maps without level cap because top tier maps cannot be completed within their level cap range. Completing the maps after you pass the cap seems to nerf the chest drastically.

If this was a poll Id vote "hell no"

Obviously in this dream the chest drop mechanics were adjusted accordingly as well

Honestly all it needs is the cap to be raised another 10-15 levels... I had a 38% xp lvl 50 map and I could only manage to explore ~80% of it soloing before I hit the lvl 75 cap limit. I could have probably completed it with a +5 lvl cap roll on the map. Obviously this problem becomes magnified in groups though.

Also objective mob drops would definitely need to be buffed as well or put a hard minimum tier on objective monsters. Only the top XX tiers drop from the monsters. Otherwise you would still have serious difficulty finding usable top tier items.

I think alot would need to be changed for this to be viable.


PvP and Pub chat were already previously part of the game and have been removed due to the fact few if any people actually used them. There used to be a building called the pub where you could chat with other players.

And pvp was somewhat used but poorly utilized and the old public chat was just a waste of time if you can't climb and chat

I really only remember it being used for HC deathmatch events. T1 or T2 events with prizes.. I used it more to just heal myself in town on non-casting classes.

The pub was alot more useful when the catacombs were in its infancy and you still had long regens soloing. Sit in the pub and talk with people doing the same thing

I think there used to also be a /yell command but I might be thinking of another game.
