I had a feeling like that too after the base, but i think missing a few secrets/techniques to get it on the right track. Hopefully i discover a lot more hacks along the way for smudging.

I find this tut pretty well explained in the completly smudge style, if it helps

Looking for more anubis style smudging... but this helped quite a bit. Except i tend to use a chalk brush and a big splatter as my go to's.
