This imo, sites top header has been cleaned up recently no reason to clutter it back up.

Some people have a hard time finding the actual "Notifications" page, this would help.

I realize people are worried about the "clutter" but there are numerous ways to implement this and avoid the clutter... For a lack of a better example they could simply use a "Icon" similar the envelope used for our messages.

Simply remove the xx/50 beside the envelope and replace it with another icon the takes you to the notifications.

Another idea would be to add a icon, or tab of some sort into our messages folder/section. It could go at the bottom of the page along with these;
