I have entire seasons of various TV shown on my PC and wish to keep them on my PC due to large file sizes. Is there a a way my phone can access those folders (maybe share them somehow over a network) and allow me to watch said videos without disrupting the actual computer? I do NOT want to remotely take over the PC with my phone?

How far away do you want to be able to access them from?
It is possible but a lot of different factors and methods can come into play.

Just in my home, gf uses the PC a lot for school and want to be able to watch some stuff on the couch while shes doing that.

If you are on the same wireless network es explorer can do it pretty easy.
