Hey guys! I was recently advised that ISPConfig is awesome to use on deddis/vps'es (mainly because its opensource)

I just wonder, why would people pay for cpanel when they can just as-well use ISPconfig?

Does anyone here know any downsides using ISPconfig ? :)

cpanel has much better support available, since it is widely used and a lot more polished than ISPConfig 3.

If you don't mind tinkering and want to run the panel on distributions not supported by cpanel, I would go for ISPConfig since it has better support for many linux distributions.

I do mind tinkering, so cpanel would be the choice ;)

Thanks a lot for your input and sorry for the late response!

Might try out ispconfig some day tho, just waiting for it to get a bit more common

do your own config in the .conf and .ini files. panels are a meme and insecure.
