From my experience, notifications are very useful to keep up-to-date with all important information from forum. Earlier I had problems to track my threads, after introducing notifications trades are much faster and it is possible to answer users within reasonable time.

So literally they made track topic useless?

there is really no way in the settings to disable them?

The only way to disable Push Notifications is to disable them in your settings
https://forums.d2jsp.org/settings.php?c=35

However if you're not using them you're still going to receive notifications when people quote you or post in your thread, as mentioned in post #2.

When you track a topic or forum, you can choose "no notifications", if you wish to not receive them. For various other internal site features, you cannot disable the notifications, nor are there plans to allow this.
