I stated that my top goal is to cut body fat. I'd like to cut down to 10% or below.

Currently, I am 6'2, 207lbs, 16%BF, and I run about 15 miles a week over 3 training days.
I am going to start lifting as well, 3 days per week on the stronglifts plan.

This is what I get back from her a few hours later...

Thanks for meeting with me today. Here is the plan for the next few weeks:

Based on the number of sensitivities and limited variety of foods from what you reported in your average intake, more information is needed before I can develop a "meal guide" for you. In order for you to get started, I recommend tracking your intake for 2 weeks using MyFitnessPal and the following goals:

2686 kcal/day (this includes a 500 kcal/day deficit)

25% protein intake = 168 g/day

45% carbohydrate intake

30% fat intake

In addition to this:

-Get a full bloodwork work-up done
-Eat something (meal or snack) every 3-4 hours to maintain stable blood sugars

Sigh.

Okay, I see the criticism, but where's the suggestion?

Your goals are counter intuitive

Stronglifts is to gain strength, based heavily squat and deadlift. You will get a physique thats blocky, like a T-Rex. The complete opposite of your goal of dropping from 16%-10%

Id suggest something like Layne Nortons PHAT

Or if you do have interest in mostly building your big 3, then something like the Texas Method

To lose weight you need a caloric deficit from your TDEE, period.
For more of that weight loss to be fat as opposed to muscle, you need to present your body with the proper amount of stimulus to convince it that your current environment demands for you to retain muscle for survival. Clearly, you need to consume enough protein as well to maintain said muscle.

This is my thought process, really. As ill conceived as it may seem, a plan like Stronglifts incorporates heavy compounds for said stimulus. And what drew me to it was how simple it is and it being 3x per week. I'm really more of a runner these days.

I'd really have a hard time doing a plan like PHAT. Fucking 6 days per week, plus early morning cardio and post workout cardio.....I don't know what you do professionally, James, but that sounds like mawfuckin burnout city to me.

Woops i thought PHAT was 4 days, in that case i meant PHUL. Which is basically a 4 day Texas Method. Its a mix between heavy lifting at the start of the week, and hypertrophy at the end of the week

Stronglifts is squatting and deadlifting, which id avoid both if youre running 3 x a week (dead srs)

Bet ur a sexy fuk

I’d skip stronglifts and find a solid hypertrophy program like Texas Method or JTS champion program.

Take the compliment :bouncy:

The championship method utilizes 5 days a week. First 4 weeks is hypertrophy, second is strength and third is peaking. I’d rub the first block with HIIT, second block I’d do some low intensity running, and the peak I’d take cardio out.

Idk though, I’d also listen to Excuse. He knows a shit load more than me.
