my friend is more of a gamer than i am. we want to learn to build our computers together, so we'd like to get roughly the same parts.

Budget: 1500$ for each of us
More specific use (what games, what programs): for me: visual studio, 2013 tomb raider, batman arkham, life is strange. maybe some newer games on 1080p medium. friend plays more games, but not sure on details.
Planned time until purchase: within 1 week
Do you need an Operating System?: windows
Do you have any specific preferred components?: 500GB SSD + 1 TB HDD; clear case to see dust without opening it.
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: no
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: not overclocking
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: no
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 30152

my desktop stays on 24/7 right now, dunno if that matters.

/edit: if possible we'd like to get everything from one store (new egg or whatever). not gonna do mail in rebates.

don't have to hit the budget man! 1000$ or whatever is fine too.

/e They CAN overclock if you decide to down the road. If you absolutely never will, get the Intel 8700 instead.

Enough graphics power for gaming at 1080p 60fps ultra or 1080p 120fps med-high.
Enough CPU power to last a long time as well for workstation tasks.

That build is garbage, don't even consider it.
