probably right after it is profitable. When uranium is too expensive and/or technology advances.

But then again before that happens there might already be a better source of energy.

atm there's no reason to use thorium for energy production.

Thorium does not produce radioactive waste, and there is much less risk of accidents like Fukushima or Tcherbnobyl.
