Most people play as glass cannon, my advice would be to just modify your current tree to prioritize life over damage and just throw a kaoms on.
With a ranger you will still need to kite because they have no real mitigation beyond evasion.

Best place to check builds is poe.ninja build section.Passive tree heatmap is good.I am playing atm bloodmagic ele hit scion with qotf and I have 6.3k life, acrobatics,phase acrobatics.I can easily do elder ugs with beyond.

If u playing Deadeye i really suggest to pick up mom from tree and use only Herald of ash.There is plenty of mana nodes when u travel to avatar of fire.Mom +acrobatics+phase acrobatics + 5 k life is enough for T16 maps with any mods.
