Ask someone to buy a Redbox for you like an underaged kid asking for cigarettes. They use the free code and you never return the DVD.

The card scanner is weird, make sure your card is facing the right direction. (Which is the opposite of what you’d think it would be) and you need to swipe it fairly quickly. What error code is it giving you, if any?
