Let's say there is an episode of a show, about 1:37 hours long. In this episode there are sequences with music in the background, sometimes with clean music, sometimes with some sound effects and talking. Let's say i would want this music isolated and removed - AND - maybe edited and remixed into a longer and more complete version of the same soundtrack.

It is two or maybe three soundtracks.

I am 99% certain that this music is special made for this exact episode. I have found the music on youtube, but it is kind of lacking, it is not the entire length, and not "substantial" ^^

How long would it take for an experienced editor to do this? I would be willing to pay fg for it.

You could find someone that could separate songz about their frequences but it always have and create parasite noise. Depends on the format recorded that u will give to the guy who will try to do it.
I know it cause in rap we use sampling and this is one of the base that u must learn before u sample anything

The best solution would be to use what u found yourself in a best quality...
I had this problem many times in my life and it s impossible to solve it properly.
Another thing would be to find the original samples from the song. If had been sample of course. And use them.

What Aym is saying is that the way we would isolate music from a recording that also contains talking / sound effects is by using a sequence of high/low pass filters to try to extract and enhance the desired frequencies.

If you are just trying to pull out the vocals or the bass, that can be done very easily. But to pull out and preserve a piece of music among other sounds can be really difficult if not impossible.

Are you talking like a movie's worth of soundtrack, or just two or three songs?
