That would be fine if I was playing pacman. It's not fine when the length of the latency is longer than the length of my teleport animation.





It's not about whether the namechange system is possible or not. They've already added a namechange system and it sort-of works.
It's about whether there should be a system at all that forces half or two-thirds of the playerbase to change all of their char names , some of which they've been using for 10 years or more

If your goal is to increase the number of players I have to play with, don't make the majority of them upset. That seems like a pretty poor way to help the game.

Who gives a rats about names anyway. If you care this much you can probably buy it back since as you said name change got introduced anyways

Have you even looked at the process for changing names?

Horrible idea ping wise. Instead they should just make us able to join the other servers in private games to trade. Playing together wouldnt make any sense because of the ping. So each char can enter cross server games, but other server games dont show up when checking for games.

Not a bad idea. When you click game to view public having a us.east europe us.west sector in the top. That could be very cool

I don't think anyone should use guild wars as an example of good design features

stop resetting ladder on uswest and the problem will work itself out, no need to worry about overlapping char/acct names.
