This "idea' keeps popping up. It's a bad idea.

They'd need to let people connect the hosts they want to use to avoid having bad ping and have a global server handle the traffic to and from those game servers.
The work needed to make this work without them completely breaking the game would be a lot more than what the new classic intern can handle. (and I see no evidence that they are able to do anything without messing something up)
Try doing a speed test on your gigabit connection to a server halfway across the world, see how gg your ping will be.

TL:DR no.
