No, it doesn't. There is no necessary correlation between the number of people who like something and how good or bad it is.
Case #1- McDonald's is very popular and absolutely terrible.
Case #2- Studying Quantum Mechanics is not very popular, but it is a great thing.
Case #3- Eating feces is an unpopular thing, and it is also a terrible thing.
Case #4- Friendship is a popular thing and it is also great.
What these 4 cases prove is that being popular and/or good may coexist or they may not. There not necessarily any connection between them. Your original argument that RP1 is good because "people like it" is not a sound argument.
