anyone know why only at work when i go to connect to blizzard on d2 it says disconnected try again before the patch can even install??? usually if the work firewall is blocking something i will get a message saying oh hey we blocked this from connecting to the network....figured i would try my luck here

put d2 on a usb.

hmm okay ill try that out, thank you....and i do haha i got a system down, i work till lunch, play for an hour, work for like another hour or two and hit my numbers needed for the day, then that usually leaves me like another hour at the end of the day

Was going to suggest USB as well, you need both d2 + d2 LOD if I'm not mistaken.

You need to run the game as admin on win7+ to be able to connect to Battle.net.
