the shootings in chicago are gang violence, taking place between predominantly black and hispanic gropups. the many victims of shootings in chicago are an accusation of the weak-on-crime democratic mayor, and of the failures of liberal ideas of peaceful and enriching multiculturalism. liberals are the ones who get exposed by the situation in chicago, and this is the exact reason why we hear so little about it.
Blaming democrats for all of the issues in Chicago is horseshit that the repubs have been pushing for a long time. It's more of a meme than actual fact.
Democrat and Republican shouldn't be the tracked groups. Progressives and conservatives should be. Many of the democrats are charlatans that are just conservatives governing in a shady manner for personal gain or on the behest of corporations and lobbies. Trends in how these large metropolitan areas across the nation evolved with respect to the drug war and white flight are consistent across cities like Boston, Chicago, LA, New York, Baltimore, etc that have all had D and R governance. Big city politics are to blame, rather than the (D) exclusively. They breed corruption, and the CIA sure didn't help. Illinois has had its share of scandals with Republican governors, senators, congressmen, alderman, etc that also couldn't resist dipping into the honeypot.
