I really do appreciate the feedback guys but I guess I’m going to have to change my question to you. Financially it makes sense for me to use my Best Buy card with no interest and pay this off in 3 months. (Or 12 if I choose to). I can either pick through their availability for parts, or just buy a prebuilt. These 3 models are in stock at my current store? Which would you choose of these and why?

financially it may make sense to you, but logically it doesn't make any sense. Prebuilds from bestbuy will not last you that long, especially a HP prebuilt. It's not only because of already outdated tech, but mostly purchasing poor quality/overstocked parts they have hard time selling on its own. For example, they bundle it up with a nice 7700 chip, which ppl rarely purchase now due to the 8400 and pair it up with shit most ppl wouldn't purchase at that high of cost (2133 ram, limited space case w/ poor airflow, no ssd in 2018 [u void warranty if u upgrade it on ur own, gotta pay more $$$$$$$$$$$ to geek squad to have them install it, or wait a year after warranty period is over and do it urself], overstocked 1070 that most likely will have temp issues in that case, 500w no name psu that's famous in prebuilds etc.etc.
it's your money and choice tho, but when we're all saying no to these prebuilds, you should have a 2nd thought

Budget: $1100
More specific use (what games, what programs): Want it to run any game for at least the next 5-7 years.
Planned time until purchase: Now!
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes (can students still get cheap OS at schools?)
Do you have any specific preferred components?: intel is a must
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: no
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: won’t be overclocking, but I’ll probably use a larger air cooler.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: no, no, and no.
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 33579

I do not want to spend a lot on a case. A decent $40-$60 case works for me. My previous computer is in a Rosewell case. Not using anything from current/dead pc in new one.

Which school (University students can get free OS I know I do)
Why intel?
In all honesty, you should wait for the next lineup which will be alleged to be released in the next year. If you buy now, 5-7 years won't be guaranteed.

I agree with waiting on the next Nvidia Lineup. Just stay on integrated GPU for a month, till they land.
Waiting on gen.9 intel is pretty much useless. it's just another refresh 14nm+++++.

I'm out of here. OP is surely not interested in any help.

I appreciate the feedback. With my pc taking a shit last night, I’m just looking for the quick fix.. Best Buy sells everything except motherboards, so I may just order one through amazon as a distribution center is 10 mintues from my house and I’ll more than likely get same day shipping free. Going to Best Buy after work to see what I can get for parts. Interest free payments are hard to pass up.

I stopped reading posts after the first few, but here's my suggestion for a full build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wDqXJ8
However, if your HD just died, but rest of rig is running fine, why not just replace that? Or just refresh the GPU (that cpu with 8gb+ ram will still game fine if you're only looking for 60fps)

I almost went the prebuilt route myself,

Being as ive never built a computer till i put this one together that im currently on!

I would highly recommend doing one of the builds they suggested! It will last you WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY longer then a prebuilt, also warranties lol! incase something breaks :D

LMFAO you still pick the evo 850, even tho 860 is half the price. You old man

Yeah, I noticed that. I wondered why...

I assume that the 850 EVO is the better choice, although I can't tell why, from the specs.

Blunt isn't rude.
He's asking us to predict future and then limiting us with a budget
