Looks like some nice flat gears!
got stuck on the river last week and just opened the cunt

Anyone one know if the gears are replacable or i have to buy a new upper unit

Alpha one 1st gen 1.94 ratio

Yes the gears are replaceable. May want to look for a rebuild kit. I've never seen a "Kit" to rebuild but all the parts are out there to do so. You fucked that one pretty good.

yeah i was cruising at 30 mph when i heard a loud bang and the engine starting rev at 5k rpm lol

Update : the impeler in the water pump got stuck so the shaft couldnt turn anymore, that explain the stripped gear in the upper case




Parts needed : 1 water pump and 2 upper gear

Could be worst no ? :lol:

Just thank god it didn't wedge and crack the case. Gears are cheap compared to a new unit

Lower bearing are loose i might have to change them too

I dont have a single tool to work on marine application i had to pull a koj and go full redneck
