100% agree. There are tons of movies that I enjoy that are objectively bad movies.

I can say with a straight face that I like the Scorpion King. There's nothing wrong with that, but if I go on to talk about what a masterpiece it was or how great this and that was, then I'd deserve to lose all credibility when it comes to movies lol. There are soooo many reasons why someone might like a bad movie, whether that genre just speaks to them (action films for me), it's overly cheesy and won you over, or maybe you watched it at a particular time in your life or with particular people to where nostalgia is playing a factor. Liking bad movies is fine. It's just that you need to understand the difference between a bad movie that you like and a movie that's actually good. It goes the other way too, there are plenty of objectively good movies that I don't like, but they didn't do anything wrong, the subject matter just didn't interest me.

Not expecting much, but looking forward to seeing a modern shark movie with an actual budget. Deep blue sea 2 was a bust.

Just saw this movie.

Not sure why they said it was based off the book, about the only thing they kept intact were the character names.

I found it more enjoyable than I thought I would. I think it would have been better if it was more faithful to the book. But as far as a mindless summer movie it fits the bill.

At least it had consistent characters, acceptable acting, good(ish) writing and actual plot+character development.

Before I saw ready player one and this I thought I'd like player one and hate this... Turns out being fucking competent when you are making a film actually has a giant impact on the final cut

Yes it is worth watching. Never listen to people who wont watch past the trailer.

Peoples opinions are usually always trash anyways. Movie was fun especially if you enjoy shark movies.
