Was super excited about this movie until the rating came out and it was PG-13. Will wait to Redbox!!!

I thought it was...kinda meh.

It had the potential to be pretty damn good, but fell well short of that mark.

It should’ve been rated R, & been much more dark in terms of brutality.

Venom the symbiote was actually pretty dope. The problem was he doesn’t fully become venom until like an hour+ into the movie.

Eddie Brock’s character was a fucking mess. Tom Hardy agreed because he apparently walked off the set one day complaining how shitty the script was. He had several lines that were just kinda weird, & had me shaking my head like...what...?

Then there’s the antagonists. You have Riot the symbiote, & the “bad” guy who becomes riot. Riot, just like Venom, was pretty cool, however he has even less screen time then Venom. Way less. Then you have the human antagonist, who was pretty much a train wreck. He was not a convincing “bad guy” in any capacity. That actor has done a decent job in other movies, however this wasn’t the one.

Anytime Venom was either talking in Eddie’s head, or actually transforms & does shit...was dope. He had some pretty funny lines as well. Other than that....meh.

I can't believe they kept the 'turd in the wind' line. Didn't the entire internet making fun of it get back to the studio? Such a bad line.

The movie was way too short to develop the characters properly... But it was 2 hours 20... So they just used the time they had very fucking poorly. Part of this can be blamed on it being an origin story, but they spent way too much time pre-venom, then too much time on the "I'm freaking out" stage. So the movie actually starts like 20 minutes before it ends.

Could have shrunk the first 90 out so minutes into 20 and had more time to develop venom/brock.

disagree with your entire statement, a lot of the movie wasn't just building the character venom but building Eddie's character. I'm not saying this movie is amazing but it is very easy to watch. good insight and the hidden scene at the end was cool

Agree’d.
