You guys might be trolling him for this comment, but hes not wrong.

Just having the rad in the loop drops temps by 10c whether a fan is running or not. Its a massive heatsink. Try it. Further.. do you honestly think hes building this to fold/mine and push his system 24/7 in a situation where that rad cant bleed off the heat?

A radiator is a heat exchanger, and airflow is one of the most important variables when it comes to cooling it. Ask any certified HVAC technician. Just because Ur system works without airflow doesn't mean it's not needed at all. If you wanna reach, might as well just say you can starve and not eat everyday and just eat once every couple weeks cuz u can survive. Try it.

Youre totally ignoring the point im making that even the smallest cooling loop can passively cool a cpu without any danger of overheating. Its not going to blow up point blank. Yes. Its designed and intended with airflow in mind, but it will not fail if some moron installs the cooler in the wrong spot or has the fans facing the wrong direction.

We're not missing your point, it's just flat out wrong. As stated before, it would be able to cool for a few minutes, but eventually the water in the loop will approach the temp of the CPU die, and without any airflow, this will heat up the radiator to the same temp and you will lose your ability to dissipate heat from the CPU. If you actually think what you say is true, then please give us a test to prove wrong. 1 hour at idle with no airflow in a radiator.
