What if we split up the mastery effects (DMG + resist) into seperate stats but double (Need help figuring out what is reasonable) the amount possible per tier. That way we can use the mastery items again without potentially breaking any end game/ climb time statistics?

Just a silly thought, certainly needs more thinkin to be thunk

Well we can't simply buff mastery without devastating end game gear choices. So if we split it up and buff each one individually both will become useful (and even better than their current counterparts in a lot of cases), rather than being just another side stat that barely matters. This has potention for chain setups with ~50 all res and all kinds of funky setups we couldn't do before.

it's not going to buff mastery. if we changed just the tier cap and made double what it is right now. it very well could still take another 7 years to get any usable set off it.

Fair point, but we can't really use drop rates as an excuse not to fix itemization.

yes we can thats the only issue with it. so if we dont change the drop rate but we want to make the state more usable then the only thing left to do is increase tier cap.

think of it this way.

we would need really a 170+ ee armor, a 150+ee weapon, and a stat charm with at least 30+ str or dex. weapon and armor must be a 55. How often does that drop? On top of that rare drop we'd also need a perfect roll of 28 master on and they'd have to be the same type for all 3 items. Odds on that? BUT WAIT WE'RE NOT DONE THERE!!! They'd also need to make up another 16% Magical Damage Reduction and that's just to make it to 100% which still doesn't show us nothing with sorbing and not a crazy help on defense because it's only 1 element. That though is balanced and wouldn't be over powered cause we'd never see this with multiple elements.

False. I agree with dude that drop rate is not the issue. Removing masteries period, THAT is what needs to happen.

Tbh I'm OK with this too but only for greedy reasons.
