Currently with shaw, and have a decent internet package. For some reason (this only happens lateish at night, like 11pm onwards) my internet starts to lagg and when i check it on the shaw.speedtest website, it's trying to connect to servers in cities far far away from me, usually it connects to the vancouver one ~60km away. But the lagg starts and it's trying to connect to victoria/kelowna/sometimse even calgary so 3km++ away. This only happens on my laptop (happened on my last laptop aswell) I say this because when i run a speedtest parallel on my phone, my phone is still saying it's connecting to the vancouver server and working fine.

I'll be going from 60-70mbs download, to 1.5 and lower.

e/ resetting my router does nothing. Sometimes my router even gets stuck on "connecting" and won't turn back on for hours. I usually just go to sleep because it won't turn back on. Resetting laptop sometimes fixes it though.

Wonder if there isnt some throttling coming from your company.

user speedtestdotnet hosted by ookala. that might be a bit more accurate, as your phone could be using cell service at same time.

search for drivers for your wifi card, download them, uninstall and reinstall wifi card

truly particular.

I would call the internet guys in your area, and ask if they could inspect your connection.
tell them about your issue.

Not sure its device related at this point.

could be router or modem getting to hot, but that is unlikely.
would be settings in router or modem but unlikely
if drivers are up to date, and web browsingg software is uninstalled and reinstalled
