its meant to be tough, not like the average american course where everybody can overpower with distance and almost no penalty for missing greens/fairways
you see this week people are holing out left and right, but in the us open/the open, when they are not in the fairway or out position( the way golf was designed), you are going to get penalized to either have to take a super risky shot or lay up.
all these other courses you see on the tour are fucking simple
if you are in the rough, and still have a super high chance on sticking the green if you are even an avid player
you see amatuers shooting low all the game when they are 22-24 years old... and these other guys do THIS EVERY DAY SINCE THEY WERE 12.. for 20-30 years..
and when they actually get a challenge they all whine
