FBI agents have political opinions? Whodathunkit.

The Strzok stuff is definitely troublesome, as well as the leaks, and improper relationships with media people. If Strzok really did delay the Weiner laptop thing intentionally for political purposes, which is entirely possible, that's terrible. That said, it seemed to backfire, because if they had started looking into it in late September and wrapped it up in a couple weeks, Hillary would've been exonerated weeks earlier.

That said, the report doesn't find affirmative evidence of politically biased actions, and it backs up Comey's decision not to recommend prosecution of Hillary.

the thing to me is, if McCabe or Strzok was acting maliciously to protect hillary, couldn't they have done something more potent than just failing to follow up on the laptop?
their gross negligence is troublesome unto itself and horowitz lays out how strzok's political bias could have led him to neglect the clinton email investigation in favor of the russia investigation, a needless redirection of manpower
but for the conspiracy or bad actor theory, I think we need to question what they could have done.

lets say you're strzok and you know the emails are in evidence and if they get examined it would necessitate re-opening the investigation. On one hand, we can discount most crude methods- destroying the evidence or trying to manipulate it wouldn't be feasible because the SDNY knew about the laptop and recorded it. On the other hand, you don't know for sure that the investigation would become public knowledge, but the possibility it leaks would be a bigger consideration than the idea Comey might go cowboy on you, nobody was expecting that until Comey actually did it. So if the threat is from leaking, well the SDNY already knows about the laptop, they could have leaked that and forced the FBI to comment. If the threat was comey, why wouldn't they just try to hide the laptop from comey's attention too?

McCabe's WSJ leak seemed designed to deflect blame onto the DAPAG for the laptop going missing more as a means to save face from a total fuckup and less to misdirect the conspiracy. Of course, then he did misdirect a conspiracy when he lied about the WSJ leaks. Which paints McCabe as guilty as fuck and should cast all kinds of suspicion on whether McCabe/Strzok were acting maliciously and not just negligently.

The OIG report was our best chance of answering this question and it didn't, so I don't expect we'll ever know.

guys guys guys, when Trump says something incorrect or even diplomatically ignorant on twitter it's expectable so it's not worth talking about.

but when FBI agents have opinions and the entire institution proves it was never worth the respek it had on its name we need to spend a week diving into potential motivations and how it could have effected literally every aspect of what happened during the campaign.

Also, Trump won, so get over it, and stop litigating the campaign, HRC lost.

We should take FBI agents seriously and literally all the time. We should never take Trump literally, and only take him seriously in select cases. That's just common sense dude.

Ok. But there you walk into a tiny problem. You have to find investigators who are competent enough to conduct an investigation into Trump and yet don't think he's an utter tool... nobody like that exists. So what do you do?
Is Trump immune from being investigated simply because there is nobody to investigate him that doesn't think he's a tool?
I'm looking forward to the next serial killer using this defence in court, 'Your honour, the investigators were biased against me from the start. They all thought I was a bloodthirsty murdering psychopath. Clearly they cannot be assigned to investigate me'.

Whenever he personally dislikes someone greatly he tends to exaggerate and overreact during coverage and commentary. It would do him well to work on that.
